Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan discussed issues of electric transport development


The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan held a meeting with representatives of the advisory mission of the Asian Development Bank on February 21, the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan reported on February 22. At the meeting, the sides discussed the development of electric transport. These issues were discussed within the framework of the implementation of the resolution of the Head of Uzbekistan of August 22, 2019 On accelerated measures to improve energy efficiency of economic and social sectors, introduction of energy-saving technologies and development of renewable energy sources. According to the press service, the mission of the Asian Development Bank is to advise on the development of policies and strategies for the development of electric transport in the Republic, to analyze the impact of electric transport on the environment and the consequences in the economy, taking into account world practices in taxation, charging and subsidies. Read also: Uzbekistan will allocate huge funds for infrastructure creation During the meeting the sides discussed the issues of phased introduction of electric vehicles into the sphere of public and personal transport, infrastructure development with determination of types of refuelling stations, considering that there is a significant potential of solar resources in the republic. According to the news agency, in Uzbekistan it is planned to allocate funds for the construction of infrastructure within the next three years, which, according to the leader of Uzbekistan, are many times more than in the last ten years.
