In Belarus, gold and foreign exchange reserves decreased in August by almost 16%

The gold and foreign exchange reserves of Belarus decreased in September by almost $1.4 billion (by 15.8%). This is stated in the report of the National Bank of the Republic. In August 2020, foreign exchange reserves decreased by $1 399.6 million (per 15.8%) after an increase of $61.8 million (per 0.7%) in July, the report said. It is noted that the international reserve assets of Belarus as of September 1, 2020, according to preliminary data, amounted to $7 457.8 million. According to the news agency, at the end of 2019, the gold and foreign exchange reserves of Belarus grew by more than a quarter to $9.4 billion thanks to external borrowing.
