In Ukraine, due to the strike of miners, the iron ore plant will be stopped


The management of the Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Plant (KZHRK) announced the suspension of the enterprise in connection with the miners' strike, the company's press service said on September 24. The administration of the KZHRK reported that it repeatedly tried to negotiate with the workers of the Rodina, Oktyabrskaya, Guards and Ternovskaya mines, who went underground in early September 2020 in protest against working conditions and the level of its payment. According to the press service of the company, the demands of the strikers were obviously impossible, and the miners rejected the proposals of the KZHRK administration. To minimize losses, preserve production equipment, prevent negative impact on the environment, they are forced to begin measures to prepare the enterprise for a long outage, the report said. The leadership of the KZHRK intends to contact law enforcement agencies in order to forcibly stop violating the law. According to the news agency, earlier employees of the Kryvyi Rih locomotive depot supported the protest of KZHRK miners and put forward their demands on local authorities.
