Uzbek authorities write off debts to pensioners


Pensioners in Uzbekistan were written off debt related to excessive pensions. This is reported by Kun on April 28. Uz with reference to the relevant decree of the President of the Republic Shawkat Mirziyoyev. From May 1, 2020 working pensioners will receive pensions from the extrabudgetary pension fund under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic. This requirement does not apply to pensioners receiving pensions from the State budget. According to the news agency, since February 1, 2020 the basic pension in Uzbekistan amounted to 238,610 sum ($23.6), which is 7% more than before the increase. The pension was also indexed on August 1, 2019.
