Iran: Security in the region cannot be achieved through US subordination

On June 30, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Mousavi said that regional security would not be achieved through subordination to the United States, noting that the only way to establish security and stability in the region would be to change the hostile nature of the behavior of a number of countries, as well as maintain regional cooperation. Responding to statements by officials of some regional countries, such as Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, Mousavi said: It is surprising that countries such as Saudi Arabia, which itself is the source of terrorism and extremism in the region and for many years has acted to destabilize the region by supporting terrorist groups, have made unfounded accusations against Iran, which cut off terrorists from the region. Supporting the demands of the US representative during his regional tour, which sought to continue Iran's arms embargo by countries that have been killing Yemeni women and children for more than five years, is a bitter irony that we have been seeing lately, he said. It is time for these countries to stop blindly following the unreasonable remarks of the United States as a country that itself is a symbol of cruelty and injustice in the world, an Iranian diplomat said.
