Over the past 24 hours, COVID-19 claimed the lives of 221 people in Iran
On July 9, a spokeswoman for the Iranian Ministry of Health, Sima Sadat Lari, said that over the past 24 hours, about 221 Iranians died from coronavirus infection (COVID-19), bringing the total number of deaths to 12,305. This was reported by the Iranian agency IRNA. Sadat Lari noted that taking into account 221 victims, the total death toll in the country increased to 12,305. Over the past 24 hours, about 2079 new cases of infection were found, COVID-19 while 995 people were hospitalized, she said. According to Lari, a total of 250,458 Iranians across the country were exposed to a dangerous virus, with about 212,176 of them recovered and have already been discharged from hospitals. About 3,324 patients with COVID-19 are in critical condition and are being treated in intensive care units, a spokeswoman said. She also stressed that so far Iran has conducted 1897,803 surveys for COVID-19 infection.
