Foreign trade of China's Inner Mongolia has subsided significantly

The volume of foreign trade in Inner Mongolia in northern China reached 57.75 billion yuan (about $8.4 billion) in the first seven months of this year, which is 9.2% lower year-on-year, Xinhua News Agency reports. According to the customs of the region's capital, Khukh-Khoto, trade with Mongolia reached 12.98 billion yuan between January and July, which is 38% lower year-on-year, while trade with Russia fell by 8% to 10.58 billion yuan. Trading import and export firms doing business with Mongolia were seriously affected by the suspension of land freight traffic amid the fight against the epidemic of a new coronavirus, customs spokesman Jiao Zhijun said. Meanwhile, the region has seen a steady increase in the number of freight trains China Europe passes through its main border ports. In the largest land port in China, Manchuria, 1,620 such trains passed from January to July, an annual increase of 37.3%, and the number of such trains passing through the port of Eren Hoto increased by 47.5% to 1,230 over the same period.
