Take from the rich: dividends can impose a progressive tax

A progressive scale of dividend tax for large companies may appear in Russia. This proposal was made to the government by a member of the Federation Council Andrei Kutepov. Several thresholds for raising the tax rate will fill the pandemic-affected budget, the senator believes. The initiative, if adopted, will hit first of all the state itself as the largest recipient of dividends and will worsen the already poor investment environment, experts are sure.

On September 28, the Office of the Imperial Court of Japan presented to journalists a copy of the tower of the old Edo Castle in the Eastern Garden of the Imperial Palace, the news agency Jiji Press reports. On September 29, the tower will be opened to visitors. The historical tower was built in the early Edo period at the beginning of the 17th century. Then, presumably, it was the tallest building in Japan. However, the fire of 1657 destroyed the tower. Since then, she has never been completely restored. The decision to create a copy was made as part of the state program for the development of tourism. The construction took about two years.
